Integrity

𝐈𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲…?!

𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧….

𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Sometimes that takes principles & pure guts!

To practise integrity,

we may need to press pause on our personal gain & consider the needs of others.

We may need to make tough decisions that are not understood.

We may need to hold our tongues & say nothing despite temptation!

We will need to be prepared to have difficult conversations & to listen above the noise of our own opinion.

We will most definitely need to put aside our personal emotions & fears at times.

It takes courage & leadership to be willing to be uncomfortable for the greater good.

There is little external glory in having integrity a lot of the time,

we may not win the popularity contest!

But, we will know the truth in our heart.

This is not some fluffy BS junk!

The heart is the critical organ that keeps us alive (one to pay attention to then)!

The heart holds memory – actual cardiac memory! This is science not fiction.

We can strive for integrity,

but beware of anyone claiming to have made it to the top of Integrity Tower!

There’s a long way to fall from that pedestal…!

Nobody is the finished article.

We are all fallible & we make mistakes; that is the perfectly imperfect human condition.

Lord knows I have!

I am guilty as charged on many accounts over my lifetime.

I have also been prepared to have some extremely challenging conversations that needed to happen.

I have also put aside my fears to make decisions for the right reasons.

What counts is that we are committed to learning & growing from our mistakes & challenges – that’s the point. It’s the only way to evolve.

That’s an integrated perspective.

Life is about lived experience, the choices we make, the feelings we act on & developing true strength of character.

A lot of the time, we get it wrong to then get it right, and that’s great learning.

Without working on integrity, who are we serving?

It can only be the negative ego, which operates from fear & that’s probably not going to make the world a better place.

Let’s not judge that either, some people are in life threatening situations.

We can all talk a good game about the choices we would make in different circumstances, but it’s a hypothesis unless we have lived it!

The word integrity comes from the Latin word ‘integer’ which means to be whole (i.e not a fraction – for the mathematicians).

To be whole, we must be self-aware & accepting.

Able to see & accept all parts of ourselves, without judgement, knowing what aspects we can work on & develop.

To strive for integrity takes courage.

Courage is the language of the heart (it comes from the Latin word Cor & French word Coer which means heart).

May our hearts be open & strong!

Keep the faith, Amanda G
